 Group ELT

Focus: Speaking practice is encouraged as much as possible. 
Vocabulary building
words, phrases, idioms is a major goal.
Grammar input depends on the needs of the group.  The stronger the group, the less need for grammar
and vice versa. 
 
Topics:  General interest topics (e.g., news, politics, science, technology, environment, people, culture, sports, etc.) as well as work-related topics (e.g., marketing, sales, finance, production, R&D, PR, HR, etc.) are used.   
 
Sources: The Internet is a major source for information and opinion.
Commercial English learning materials are used for grammar and vocabulary exercises.
 
Methods:  Texts are handed out on paper or displayed on a screen.
Videos are shown and discussed.  
Trainer notes are displayed during the lessons and e-mailed to the group after the lessons. 
 
Soft skills: Training can be provided in these areas of soft-skill communication:   
●  Meetings
— participating in and leading
●  Presentations — structuring and delivering
●  Telephoning and tele-conferencing  
●  Social interactions — welcoming, hosting, greeting, introducing, small talk, restaurants, etc.
 
Location:

Lessons can either take place at the client's site or online.

Frequency:

They usually take place once a week.

Duration:

They usually last for 60 minutes.
